AYDA runs entirely on the effort of volunteers and the generosity of donors. There is no marketing budget and no fundraising team. If AYDA grows, it is because people who understand what we are doing choose to share it.
AYDA's on-the-ground team in Saint-Louis handles everything at the Centre. Where volunteers can make a real difference is on the administrative side: communications, grant writing, financial reporting, translation (French and English are both useful), web content, and research. If you have a skill that could reduce the load on a small team running a lean operation, we want to hear from you.
Occasionally there are also opportunities to volunteer in person in Saint-Louis, whether in teaching, medical support, or construction projects. These are organised on a case-by-case basis and coordinated through El Hadj and the AYDA team on the ground.
If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity, get in touch and tell us what you can offer.
Donations are the only reason AYDA can keep its doors open. The Centre's monthly operating costs are modest by any international standard, but they are real: rent, staff stipends, food for Talibé children, and basic security. Beyond core operations, every construction project, every medical session, and every football kit costs money that has to be raised.
Donations to AYDA are made through our funding partner ASOA (African Strategic Outreach Alliance), a UK-registered charity. This means your donation is managed under UK charity law, with full accountability from receipt to disbursement.

Word of mouth is genuinely how organisations like AYDA survive. If what we do resonates with you, tell someone. Post about it. Send the link to a friend who cares about this kind of work.
If you know someone who might want to be more directly involved — whether as a donor, a volunteer, or simply someone who wants to understand what grassroots development actually looks like — point them our way. We are always open to a conversation.
